Why is Periscope so Great?

In my last blog post I talked about Twitcasting, the Japanese live broadcasting app that has been around since 2010 and how the publicity for it has been very minimal compared to Periscope and Meerkat. Delving deeper into my research about live broadcasting software, I have learnt that there have been several live broadcasting apps developed over the years such LiveStream, UStream and UNow but all of these apps I had never heard of before.

What I mainly want to focus on in this blog post is Periscope and why it is talked about so much. Firstly, Periscopes layout and format is incredibly simple and is very user friendly. It looks nice, it’s sleek and instantly attracts users.
